There is a tremendous amount to see and do in the Orono area. Whether you like the excitement of a Fall fair, the quiet of a small-town Christmas, or the pleasure of your own outdoor activities, Orono has something for you.

The Orono park is a wonderful setting for you family renuion, family picnic or just a nice place to get together for a day of play, swimming, baseball, and now skateboarding. Fishing - trout, pike, salmon, bass, perch and many other varieties. Be sure to check the season, and bring your tackle!

Skiing - cross-country and downhill skiing are all available close by. Don't hide inside; come on out and enjoy!

Snowmobiling - we have some great trails within a very short drive. Bring your sled and let's have some fun!

Biking - spring, summer and fall, there are some terrific areas for cyclists, whether you're into riding the roads or a heavy-duty mountain biker.

Hiking and walking - in town, you can enjoy the Sidney B. Rutherford Woods Walk. And we have many more trails for hiking just outside town. Get off the couch and enjoy!

Orono Arena Public Skating starts in October - Public Skating on Sundays 2pm to 3:30pm Adults: $3.50, Students $2.50, Family $7.00, Pre-schoolers, Free. Parents, Tots & Seniors Skating on Tuesday 2pm to 3:30pm and Wednesdays 12 to 1:30 pm, Free.
